Re: The N.Y.C. M.T.A. Show & My Business Plan to possibly sell every vehicle
you and all others can produce over the next three to seven years; with a
possible contract. Enclosed are the some instructions from The N.Y.C M.T.A.
Chairman pertaining to how you show your vehicles, sell them and get paid from
N.Y.C.M.T.A. Study it carefully.
Introduction
This is a formal request for the initial order of the 5,000 customized Class A,
B, and possibly others for The New York City M.T.A. This fleet is to be in New
York City as soon as possible. You have 40,000 in the marketplace; vehicles
that are retorted can be acceptable. How many can you offer and how soon?
I am Roosevelt Powe. I am a chief economist authorized to inform and perform
the following developments. New York City is considering adding a fleet of
elegant vehicle to its M.T.A. Services in order to get more funds from The
Federal Department of Transportation. It seems the more cars a city removed
from the streets the more funding it receives. Your Class A, B and some other
vehicles are dynamic, elegant, well-engineered, with interior designs so swank
that they supersede many homes in style and size; including my N.Y.C.
apartment. Research revealed 100% of the stratified 3,000 people polled said
they would give up their one car for this fleet. Your vehicles do not have to be
used for only camping. The initial order would be 7,5,00 units as soon as
possible. 40% of these vehicles are to be R.V.s and motor-homes; another 10%
Class B and C's and the remaining units another configuration. In order for you
to sell to us, you must participate in our show to show your sample products;
customization is enclosed.
The N.Y.C.M.T.A. Chairman Instructions
1. I have to select the manufactures, makes, models, cost and vehicles that I
think would best satisfy the vehicular specified requirement of
The N.Y.C.M.T.A.
2. Then, I have to show those units to each borough or significantly advertise
long enough to bring enough of the public to review the units.
Variables Considered In Show Room Venue
Although, I have attended them, I have never produced/promoted an R.V., Motor
home & Vehicle Show. Therefore, I will rely on your input to satisfy
your needs to make this one successful.
However, I have researched personnel at The Javits Center and other promoters
in the business that have. It seems that after my research I have to find a
location that I think would maximize all of my preferred results.
At this point, that I have done.
I realize that your average shows consist of three days and you pay an average
of three thousand dollars for some of your show space.
Having it at the Javits Center is impossible.
Therefore, it will have to be a mid-town commerce/retail building and that
comes with the following concerns. Although, some potential available spaces
seem to average between $100- $200 a sq. ft. In N.Y.C. some of it can
cost up to $1,500 a sq. ft. and they want a ten-year lease with one year
upfront. However, you can donate your best bid to one of our not-for-profit
organizations possibly. All of the possible short-term ground floors allow for a
showing of seven to twenty vehicles; an average of 10,000 sq. ft. Some
buildings have more show space on the second floor. Remember, this is not
your conventional R.V./Auto Show. We incur variables that we think you should
know in considering your pricing. This does not mean you cannot get a 40ft.
space for 1-$3,000 a day possibly; and even less on a monthly base. It
depends on the space. There are approximately eight potential places with
space in NYC. My research shows there are over 100 vehicles manufacturers
and over four hundred makes and models. I recognize that some of you own
more than one plant.
The show for the city must be more than three days or it will have to be moved
to other boroughs. Its advertising budget must be considerable so we do not
have to move the vehicles from borough to borough. Also, my administration cost
must be considered.
We are placing up to two hundred sales people in the field to market to every
business in mid-town and holding nightly investment meetings,
because no matter what the city decide we want to buy what you bring.
This would serve as an initial test and operational fleet; thereby, making it
easier for the city to decide and purchase them. Our fleet could offer basic
unlimited transportation between South Street Seaport and 110th
Street starting at $10.00 a day.
Show Participating Variables & Customizing
a) Would you want New York City M.T.A. to consider your
vehicles for purchasing?
b) If you do, you must submit a picture of the vehicle(s) and their species/sheet:
weight/height/door span, etc.
c) After you see the space, you must submit your best bid per sq. ft.
for your total space. The best bids would guarantee priority selection of space.
d) Will you be willing to pay for your space and allow your vehicles to remain, as
long as enough sales are generated? If you do that, it will make it easier to sell
your vehicles to investors, other cities, promote/rent/sell your vehicles to the 8
million that lives here, the 40 million that comes here yearly as tourists and the
3 million that come here daily to work. They too like camping, as well as
riding/using and being chauffeured in high-end vehicles.
e) Customizing for the Show: R.V.s & Motor homes
> We are interested in reviewing all length vehicles.
> Your front sections can retain their same appointments.
> Your couches/club/booth tables/cooking appliances/refrigerators, ice makers,
bathrooms with showers, storage and closet spaces are acceptable. Your dish
washers are persevered for our night club and restaurant vehicles only.
> The rear sections: we will review 1% with bed configurations and up to seven
private sleeping quarters, for our Lunch and Breaks Sleeper Service. All
towable/fifth wheelers may retain their full amenity configurations.
> The remaining configurations: elegant modular seating units mostly, with and
without armrests (allowing singular/couples/group/seating). Each chair should have
a table. They can be small round/square or even a rack of elegant TV tables.
Tables should be strong and stable. Table tops must have secure lips and
measure no more than 10" x 14". Rear compartments seating maybe a minimum
of four or more La-Z-Boy recliner chairs/French provincial/Italian love
seats/lounge furniture and/or 8-16 modular chairs in elegant living room
settings. Major singular seating should be accompanied with floor lamps, with and
without adjustable necks. Obviously, stabilization of some floor lamps and all
lamps on tables would be necessary. It is not necessary to stabilize the
remaining rear compartment furniture. Embrace footstools, some foldable.
Chandeliers and flocked wallpapers are acceptable.
> Also, consider leather/naugahyde and all other durable materials.
> Flooring: Parquet and others hardwood floorings; include plush commerce
carpet.
>Consider big rear picture widows with tied-back draperies under valances and
cornices.
> Consider rear section with all massaging chairs/feet-massaging pools, with
pedicure capability and hand massaging nail tables.
Consider a few standing/moving hand bars.
> Consider a few partying/dancing/night club units. How to design them is up to
you.
f) R.V.s/Motor homes may occupancy up to 65% of the space.
g) Stretched Limousines:
+ no People Movers and 10 Pack/J Seats.
+ Nothing less than 103".
+ 103-109" & 9 Packs are used for our Limousine Cuisines.
+ All units must have six doors.
+ Other units up to 18-20 passengers must have side/modular/sectional seats.
+ All units must have elegant bars/refrigerators/minimum eight drink dispensers,
storage space and microwave ovens.
h) Note: All vehicles are to have white wall tires; mostly, Vogue and then
B.F.G.'s Coker Classic Radials 630600 and other Coker's. You may include 1/2
inch whitewall tires. All vehicles should have tinted windows with 70%
transferable and two flagpoles placed on opposite ends of the front bumper or
fenders.
Paints/Colors/Outsides: Nothing plain. You may experiment with paints, colors
and materials, such as flocks. Try art works, drawings, designs, and that found
@fineartamerica.com. Placing a flower(s) and art work on the hood, fender,
roofs, trunk and etc. Unique detailing and pin striping would be welcome.
i) Wi-Fi is to be in most vehicles.
j) If your insurance prohibits you from showing your vehicles for more than three
days please inform me of that fact.
k) If you have questions or objections with any of the participating variables
please let me know when you contact me.
l) My anticipated N.Y.C.M.T.A. New Fleet Show date is Feb. 14th, 20015.
m) Showing of the space(s) is upon request.
n) All bids are to be money orders or certified checks and due by date to be
posted.
